What was the Belgian UFO wave of 1989-1990?
“From November 1989 through April 1990, thousands of witnesses across Belgium reported large triangular craft with three or four white lights. The Belgian Air Force formally confirmed two F-16 radar locks on 30-31 March 1990.”
The Belgian UFO wave was a five-month period of mass-witness sightings across Belgium from November 1989 through April 1990. Thousands of witnesses, including police officers and military personnel, reported large silent triangular craft with three or four bright white lights at the corners. The most-cited single event occurred on the night of 30-31 March 1990: Belgian Air Force radar tracked unidentified objects, two F-16 fighters were scrambled, and the pilots achieved brief radar locks before the objects accelerated beyond the F-16's tracking capability. Belgian Air Force Major-General Wilfried De Brouwer publicly acknowledged the radar tracks and said the events "could not be explained." The wave is one of the most-documented multi-national UFO events of the 20th century. Not part of PURSUE Release 01 (U.S. records only).
